Those of us who live in Lakeport enjoy the small town character and wide variety of active things to do. There are many recreational, fun, and entertaining places to go and explore on any given day.

Outdoor Activities
For those of you who love the outdoors, you may want to check out Clear Lake State Park for camping, biking and hiking adventures, or if you prefer a low-key stroll, Lakeport Library Park is an ideal walking path for pedestrians to admire beautiful Clear Lake. Library Park also has a boating ramp, in addition to one on Third Street by the Lakeport Yacht Club. Visitors and residents alike can access these FREE boating ramps to water ski, wakeboard, tube, sail, and swim in California’s largest natural lake.

Dining around the Lake
Lake County offers an excellent assortment of restaurants around the Lake. From Upper Lake to Middletown, all around the area, you can be guaranteed you’ll find something that will satisfy your palate. To find out the locations and types of restaurants within the County click here.

Concerts
During the summer months, Lakeport’s Library Park is the happening spot to be every Friday night for the annual Concerts in the Park. This event, sponsored by KXBX 98.3 FM and various businesses around Lake County, is FREE to everyone and features different genres throughout the summer.

Wineries
Besides having the perks of gorgeous views and a beautiful lake right at our fingertips, residents also have the benefit of living in an area with a number of world famous wineries. With many offering tours and wine tasting on daily basis, wine lovers and curious observes alike can fill entire days exploring the many wineries around the county. Go Back in Time…Explore Lake County’s Museums
Besides a number of outdoor activities to keep you company, the Lakeport Courthouse Museum provides a great learning experience for the young and old that allows you to explore Lake County’s deep history dating back more than 100 years ago! The Lower Lake Schoolhouse Museum is another wonderful historical resource in Lake County that takes you back in time to discover what life was like so many years ago.

Taylor Observatory
Located in Kelseyville this wonderful asset to Lake County is has provided over 25 years of astronomical entertainment and education to thousands of families. With a classroom, computer controlled telescope, and a planetarium, the facility is well equipped to help students and the general public learn about astronomy.
