On September 27th, 2023, City of Lakeport, Police, Behavioral Health, and Lake Family Resource Center held a public Town Hall Meeting to engage with the public regarding the state of the homelessness and Mental Illness situation.  Additionally, we gave a history of the criminal justice system and mental health system changes over the past few decades.

Two Hundred members of the public participated in the in-person meeting and an additional Seventy-Five attended online. The purpose of this presentation to the council is to give an overview of the information discussed at the meeting and give the council the opportunity to discuss the issues.

Please see Local Government 101 for more presentations that enhance civic education and transparency for those who wish to be engaged and informed participants in the decision-making process.
