General Plan & Zoning Inconsistencies

The Planning Commission of the City of Lakeport will hold a public hearing to consider General Plan Amendments and Zone Changes amending the existing land use mapping inconsistencies for various property's throughout the City (File #'s GPA 16-01 and ZC 16-01) and the adoption of a Negative Declaration based on Environmental Review / Initial Study (ER 16-01) on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at 5:00 p.m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, located at 225 Park Street, at which time and place all interested persons may appear and be heard.  If you have questions or comments, please call the Lakeport Community Development Department at 707-263-5613, extension 203. 

The Lakeport General Plan 2025 was adopted in August of 2009.  With that adoption, discrepancies between the Land Use Designation in the General Plan and the Zoning Ordinance were created. A total of ninety-one (91) parcels with such discrepancies have been identified by Community Development Department Staff throughout the City. The inconsistencies reflect parcels with a zoning land use designation that are significantly different than the General Plan designation.  Community Development Department staff developed proposed strategies for resolving these conflicts, those strategies include changing either the General Plan designation or the zoning land use designation to reflect the historic use of the property and/or the goals of the General Plan.
