City of Lakeport, California

Frequently Asked Questions for Residents

Where does wastewater go?

Water is used for many activities around homes and businesses, but what happens to it when it goes down the drain? The City of Lakeport provides sanitary sewer services to the property line of it’s customers. This service is made up of a network of underground piping that collects discarded wastewater and transports it to collectors (liftstations) that pump the wastewater to a treatment facility that treats, stores, and disposes of it.

The wastewater treatment facility is located at 795 Linda Lane, just SE of the City limits. The treatment facility was constructed in the early 90’s for an average dry weather flow of 1 million gallons per day.
