On Saturday, June 23, 2012, Sonoma County Sheriffs Office personnel, after being tipped by an astute citizen, located and arrested Attempted Murder Suspect Raymond Richard Casillas, without incident, at a residence in the Windsor, California area.

Casillas is in the process of being returned to Lake County where he will be booked into the County Jail and face various charges incuding Attempted Murder stemming from an alleged incident that took place at Central Park Avenue and Shady Oak Street, in Lakeport, on 6-22-2012.

On Friday, June 22, 2012 at approximately 1930 hours Lakeport Police Department units, assisted by Lake County Sheriff’s Department and California Highway Patrol units were dispatched to the area of Central Park Ave. and Shady Oak St. to investigate the report of approximately 10 subjects being involved in a physical fight.  While responding units were en route, dispatch advised that several callers were reporting hearing gunfire. 


Law enforcement units from the aforementioned agencies arrived at the scene and immediately detained numerous subjects and began an investigation.  Investigating officers determined that one detained subject identified as Raymond Richard Casillas, 22 of Lakeport had attempted to shoot another subject several times during the fight.  The victim was able to push the firearm away and escaped unharmed. 


During the investigation Officers located the firearm, a loaded modified rifle and other associated evidence, at a residence in the 800 block of Central Park Ave.  At approximately 2045 hours, while the investigation was still ongoing, Casillas escaped the custody of law enforcement with the assistance of a female subject identified Dana Rochelle Hueners, 21 of Lakeport.  Hueners was located in the area a short time later and arrested for being an accessory to a felony and assisting in an escape from custody. 


Casillas has not yet been located and is currently wanted for attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, escape from custody and being in violation of parole.  He may still be in the Lakeport area or may have been picked up by unknown subjects and transported to the Mendocino County areas of Ukiah or Redwood Valley.  Casillas is an American Indian adult, 5-11 tall, 169 pounds, with long black hair worn in a pony tail and brown eyes.  He was dressed in gray shorts, a light colored shirt and a black hooded sweatshirt.  He also had a bleeding lip and was handcuffed behind his back.  The public is requested not to contact Casillas if located, but to immediately call 911 and report the information to the police.  This investigation and the search for Casillas are ongoing.
