How do I make a Public Records Request?
In accordance with the California Public Records Act (“Act”), the City of Lakeport provides access to public records, except those exempt from disclosure by law.
Requests for easily identifiable public records may be made either orally or in writing. City staff may suggest that the requester complete the city public Records Request Form. However, the requester is not required to complete the form in order to inspect public records.
Written requests should be submitted to the City Clerk, City of Lakeport City Hall, 225 Park Street, Lakeport, CA 95453; by fax: 707-263-8584; or via email at admin@cityoflakeport.com. Verbal requests can be made by calling the City Clerk's office at 707-263-5615.
How do I file a claim against the City of Lakeport?
To file a claim against the City you must first complete a Claim Form. Claim Forms are also available at the City Clerk’s Office located at City Hall at 225 Park Street, Lakeport, CA 95453.

How do I register to vote?
You may register to vote if you are currently a United States Citizen, will be at least 18 years of age at the time of the next election, and are not in prison or on parole for a felony violation. The registration deadline is 15 days before an election to qualify to vote in that election.
How do I get appointed to a Commission or Committee?
Residents who are interested in serving on a board or commission should note the following:
- To be considered, potential applicants must submit a completed Committee and Commissions Application to the City Clerk’s Office.
- In general, committee and commission members are appointed by the Mayor and City Council and not compensated for their time.
- Appointed members are required to comply with the Brown Act requirements for open meetings.
