City of Lakeport, California

Hot Dog With A Cop

The community is invited to come out this week to meet first responders and local officials, and enjoy a hot dog.
The “Hot Dog with a Cop” event will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, June 22, in Lakeport’s Library Park.
This event is being hosted by the Lakeport Police Department’ Business, Neighborhood & Community Outreach officer, Lakeport Fire Protection District firefighters and crisis responders from Lake County Behavioral Health. Hot dogs are being provided by Bruno’s Shop Smart.
Come have a free hot dog and soda and chat with Lakeport Police officers, Lakeport firefighters and Lake County Behavioral Health crisis workers.
Hot Dog with a Cop is the latest in a series of community-oriented get-togethers hosted by local officials in an effort to build cooperation and understanding with area residents.
Those outreach efforts also include the popular “Coffee with a Cop” events that Lakeport Police and other local law enforcement agencies have hosted as part of their community policing efforts.
Later in the summer, the police and city officials also will once again host the popular “National Night Out” event for the community on Tuesday, Aug. 1.
This year’s National Night Out will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Esplanade Street neighborhood. Follow the event’s Facebook page for updates.
