Unsolved Homicide Case

On October 8, 2002, Barbara Gaye LaForge, Age 43 of Kelseyville CA was brutally murdered inside of her business, Wildwood Frame Shop and Inspirations Gallery on Main St. in downtown Lakeport.
Over the past five years the Lakeport Police Department, with the assistance of the Lake County District Attorney’s Office and the California Department of Justice has investigated this case. Investigators from other agencies and organizations have also provided assistance.
The Lakeport Police Department is currently working with “Inside the Tape” an organization operated by an actively working and nationally recognized law enforcement homicide investigation expert. In addition to providing investigative assistance and case review, this organization also provides homicide investigation training to law enforcement agencies throughout the United States of America.
During this investigation the California Governor’s Office issued a $50,000.00 reward for information leading to arrest and conviction of the of the responsible persons. The reward is still active.
Solving this case continues to be the highest priority of the Lakeport Police Department. We are committed to using every available resource in order to bring the responsible persons to justice. There are currently two Lakeport Police Department Detectives and one Lake County District Attorney Investigator assigned to this case.
