The City of Lakeport Community Development Department is a consolidated department responsible for several functions, including, Planning, Building Inspection, Code Enforcement, Nuisance Abatement, Flood Area Administration, and Business Licensing. In addition, the Community Development Department shares responsibility with other City departments in dealing with Redevelopment, Economic Development, Park Planning, Utility and Infrastructure Planning, Sewer and Water Administration, and more.
The Community Development Department is located within Lakeport City Hall at the corner of Park and Second Streets in downtown Lakeport across from Library Park and the Carnegie Library.

The Community Development Department is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday except legal holidays. Administrative staff, Building Inspector, Planners, and the City Engineer are available to answer questions at the counter and by phone during normal working hours. However, there are times when CDD staff are not available or are out of the office, and it is recommended that you call to schedule an appointment during working hours.
